MOOT or Mood Of Our Time is a carbon fibre chair that continues the ongoing interest that I have in elevating the perceived value of this incredible material. The chair remains a good host for exploring the relationship between materials, technology and structure. Moot explores the skin dynamics of a single surface that absolutely adheres to and respects the contours of human anatomy and the concept of ‘exoskeleton’ in structural support. Between Art and Design it is limited in its production edition by virtue of its requirement of advanced skills in carbon layup and craft which are rare.
